The Long Gray Line Finds a New Court

West Point has produced leaders who shaped American history on every battlefield from Gettysburg to Kandahar. Those same graduates are now spread across every state and dozens of countries, and they are picking up pickleball paddles at a rate that would impress even Patton.

The West Point Pickleball Club exists to connect USMA alumni on and off the court, promote pickleball for cadets at the Academy, and help fund the sport so the next generation of officers has access to it too.

Soldiers

Connect Alumni

Find other USMA graduates wherever you've landed. Pick up a game anywhere in the country. The Long Gray Line runs long enough to cover every court.

Army Cadets

Serve the Corps

Promote pickleball as a cadet activity at West Point. The physical, mental, and social benefits of this sport belong inside the barracks.

Paddle and Ball

Fund the Sport

Help provide equipment, programming, and resources so cadets have access to one of the best sports for lifetime fitness and camaraderie.

The Long Gray Line — Mapped

West Point Pickleball Club members span the country and the world. Every pin is a graduate, a player, and a connection waiting to happen.

Each pin represents a club member. Locations added as members register.

Events & Gatherings

Every mission needs an objective. Ours starts in November 2026 with the Class of 2001's 25-year reunion, and grows from there.

MAJ Doug Miller (Ret.)
Founder
USMA Class of 2001

West Point taught them to endure joint pain. Pickleball just makes it fun.

After retiring from the Army, MAJ Doug Miller picked up a paddle in Columbus, Georgia and found something that felt familiar — competition, community, and a reason to keep showing up. He built an adult league, a youth league, and charity events that brought a city together around the sport.

On a visit back to West Point, he found no official pickleball presence for cadets or alumni and left that day with a plan to change it.
